Lora, Roxie, and I (Duane) started our journey On Nowhere Road November 15, 2016 from Middle Earth, MD. Our plan was, and remains, to travel without a set destination ... to wander. We've been doing this for more than two years and love it more today than when we started.
The chronological timeline below shows a date ordered overview of our travels. This page is the chronological timeline version of OnNowhereRoad's Travel Map. So, if you would prefer a geographical overview of our travels, check out our Travel Map page.
The timeline is updated frequently so check back often. Enjoy!
Gatlinburg Brewing Company in Gatlinburg, Tennessee has been around for a long time, but just recently opened a taproom right in downtown historic Gatlinburg. We visited the taproom for the first time on a Monday in the middle of the afternoon and the brewery was doing great with most bar seats taken. The taproom is…Read More
As many of you may know ever since Lora, Roxie, and I (Duane) started full time RVing, we have also been searching for a place to call home. A place we know is always there waiting for us as we travel and explore North America. During our travels so far, we had narrowed the location…Read More
We were very happy in Florida for the winter and not yet ready to venture north, but Lora found a lot for sale in a tiny home resort in Gatlinburg, TN. These lots were moving fast and so we sprinted out of Florida and into the cold of Tennessee in the winter. About 50 miles…Read More
After spending Christmas with family in Maryland and Virginia, the weather started turning cold and we felt the urge to go south. We like to travel leisurely so we took three days to get to our first stop in Florida, Bulow RV Resort in Flagler Beach. Bulow RV Resort was hardly a resort, but we…Read More
Center of the Universe Brewing Company in Ashland, VA just north of Richmond, VA was just across the street from the campground, Americamps RV Resort, where we were staying. This tap house was very new, clean, and had a modern vibe all around. The sitting room was medium sized with both bar and table seating.…Read More
Smoky Mountain Brewery in Pigeon Forge is set in a strip mall where there is a movie theater, a lumberjack show, an obstacle course, and many other shops. Parking can be a challenge especially on game day and the place will often be packed. Inside, the brewery has a nice casual feel and is more…Read More
Yee-Haw Brewing Company in Pigeon Forge, TN is part of “The Island” complex. It’s a small taproom that serves only the Yee-Haw beers and a small selection of bar food. We liked the IPA and the Pale Ale. Their food selection was terrible so don’t come here hungry like we did. We had their giant…Read More
Sierra Nevada Brewing Company in Mills River, NC was a grand and beautiful facility. The taproom and restaurant were huge with an outside dog friendly section that included a smaller menu. The day we went, a Sunday, we got the last two seats at the bar. Lora stuck with the Pale Ale while I did…Read More
BearWaters Brewing Company in Canton, NC was a God send. The campground we were staying at was terrible and so this brewery came in very handy. Of the two IPAs they offered, our favorite was the Stiff Paddle. To be honest, the smell from the paper mill across the street was overwhelming and may have…Read More
Pisgah Brewing Company in Black Mountain, NC (the outskirts of Asheville, NC) has become our favorite micro brewery. The brewery was built inside an old factory and is very rustic with a laid back, relaxed atmosphere. The other parts of the building were still a working factory. We’ve never been to Pisgah Brewing when we…Read More
